English is an international language and the language of international communication. Its curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils read easily, fluently and with good understanding…….acquire a wide vocabulary, an understanding of grammar and knowledge of linguistic conventions for reading, writing and spoken language.
English is the language that connects countries from all over the world. Knowing English increases the chances of getting a good job within home country or for finding work abroad. The only thing which makes the English a unique language is its absorbability. It is unique because it has taken the words from different languages. It is the only language in the world which contains the words of almost every language. Geoffrey Chaucer born in London sometime between 1340 and 1344, an English author, poet, philosopher, bureaucrat and diplomat referred as ‘Father of English literature’.
Literature reader is prescribed and published by ‘National Council of Education Research and training’ New Delhi. This text book contains two parts:
